Biography

Biography

Dana continually displays his versatility in all areas of visual media. He graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1986 where he studied both photography and film. He then opened his own studio, where, for the past 18 years where he has shot everything from Fashion, to Entertainment, to Still Life culminating in a series of one-man shows and exhibitions throughout Southern California. His client list boasts an impressive array of companies, including Disney, United, Columbia Pictures, Castle Rock Entertainment, Nissan, Lexus, Pioneer, Cigna HealthCare, Washington Mutual and Allstate to name a few. Along with shooting for a variety of record labels he is also occasionally commissioned to shoot private portraits of celebrities the likes of James Earl Jones, Elizabeth Montgomery, Sally Kellerman, Ron Livingston, Robert Foxworth, and Ice T. In 1998 Dana joined forces with Linda Emme, and opened Portico Productions a digital media company providing design and production for film and video, post-production, digital imaging, motion graphics and web design. Portico too, boasts an impressive client list: Time Warner, Turner Broadcasting, PBS, BBC, KCET, Sheraton, Converse, TicketMaster /Citysearch, Amgen, Pizza Hut & La Salsa Restaurants. In addition to teaching at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and UCLA, Dana has been creating visuals for interactive CD-ROM projects, and shot an Award Winning Campaign for Cigna HealthCare. He has also completed a variety of television projects as director and producer of; “A Choir of Angels,” an hour-long special, showcasing the Los Angeles Choral Ensemble; I Cantori, taking him to South America and across the Southwest, “Sculpting His Passion” an interstitial highlighting the work of Los Angeles based sculptor Andrea Favilli, “Consummate Entertaining” a pilot for a gourmet dining program in the San Francisco Bay Area featuring Chef Laura Craig, and “A Day Inspired” , a five minute image piece for Rosewood Hotels and Resorts. Dana Hursey is an applauded photographer for his recent works created in 2005 as part of the 14 Days Project.
